Harbour Helsinki: round Katajanokka, along the new Kalasatama shoreline and out to Mustikkamaa island.
The eastern waterfront has changed more than any other part of Helsinki in the last fifteen years, and it makes for a varied, flat long run.
From Market Square the route loops the Katajanokka peninsula, past the cruise terminal and Jugend apartment blocks, then follows Pohjoisranta and Hakaniemi to the new district of Kalasatama, with its towers and seaside promenade.
Two bridges lead to Mustikkamaa, a recreational island with forest paths and beaches beside Korkeasaari Zoo. Run a loop of the island and return the way you came.
