Finland's largest running event: Helsinki City Marathon, Finland's biggest half marathon and a 5K, finishing at the Olympic Stadium.
Helsinki City Run is the biggest weekend in the Finnish running calendar. The 2027 edition brings together the Helsinki City Half, the 47th Helsinki City Marathon, a marathon relay, the Helsinki City 5 and the Helsinki City Double, which combines the marathon and the half marathon.
The 5 km race and walk take place on Friday 7 May. The marathon, half marathon and relay are on Saturday 8 May, on single-loop courses through the streets of Helsinki with a finish inside the Olympic Stadium. The organisers expect around 24,000 participants from more than 100 countries.
Registration
Registration is handled by the organiser, Helsinki City Run. Helsinki.run is not the organiser of this event.
Visitor information
- Start and finish at the Olympic Stadium, reachable by trams 2, 4 and 10.
- Early May mornings can be cool (5–12 °C); wear something you can discard at the start.
- Book accommodation early: it is a busy weekend in the city.
